Proverbs 11:2 (New International Version)
2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

November 16th is the date set aside to have my right ovary taken out. I’m scared, I’m nervous. This is not my idea of a fun time. Very frightened because of the blood clotting issues. But I do feel in the right hands with Dr. Cheon. So tired of the problems that I have had up until this point. The pain in my right side has been horrendous and I wish Dr. Bell had just taken the ovary when he took the apppendix 2 1/2 years ago. Then maybe I would be one step ahead of the game.
This has been no picnic since the first time I got a period. I have suffered ever since. The only times that I can remember not being in pain were while I was pregnant except for the time Danielle was laying on my sciatic nerve for one month and made it impossible to walk. The constant diarrhea while pregnant too was no fun while pregnant for Patrick but that just needed a shot of IV fluids to rehydrate and then I was as good as new.
Hopefully, this will be the ticket to resolving the female issues. I’m just a little nervous that there is something more wrong with the ovary other than cysts because of the pain that I have. Not to mention the issues I have going potty. I will be praying for an easy surgery, the doctor to have complete control of the operating room and knowledge in my situation to handle the smallest to the largest issues she could encounter, a quick recovery and to be home the same day.

Many things have happened since the last time I posted. But the one thing that I would like to write about today is our Fresh Air Child, Morgan Thomas. We filled out paperwork back on February 14th. We found out that Morgan would be our child a couple of days prior to her arrival. We spoke to her on the phone on the 14th. Her arrival date was July 16th. We had a nice conversation. She’s a happy, healthy 9 year old.
On July 16th we picked her up in Latham. We stopped at Dick’s Sporting Goods to get her a swim cap and goggles. The first order of business was to jump in the pool. When I mentioned that in the car on the ride home she said I’m with you on that one sister. Our time in the pool was cut short due to a thunderstorm rolling in. We jumped out of the pool and then I made dinner. TACOS. Which she said here the best tacos she has ever had. After dinner it was back in the pool but the mosquitoes were so bad that we couldn’t stand it. The rest of the night went smoothly.
Friday we went out to lunch with Patrick, Danielle and Kim to Panera Bread. She had never been to one before. She ate an entire salad on her own with bread. Then we went to Target to look for a bathing suit. No luck. Friday night we had steak on the grill. After that it was raining pretty hard and we had intentions of going to Schenectady for a family fun night with fireworks. We went to Walmart to look for a bathing suit, which we found a SpongeBob bathing suit. After that, it wasn’t raining so we did go to the fireworks. But it did start to rain just in time to ruin the fireworks.
Saturday was the picnic with campus safety people at Tammy’s. She had a great time swimming in the pool all day. She talked the whole way home in the car about the teenagers staring at Sean.
Sunday was a down day. We just went to church and stayed home. Danielle, Jesse and Garrett came over for a visit. We had a late dinner. Then to bed early to get a lot of rest for Monday’s trip to The Great Escape. I will never go there again. It is too tiring, too expensive. I think she had fun. But probably got tired out. She wanted Taco Bell on the ride home which we did not do. We had burgers on the grill.
Tuesday we did go to Taco Bell for lunch and it rained most of the day. We were able to go into the pool for a little while before the trip to Taco Bell. The rest of the day was spent visiting my work and going to Saratoga Beads and Price Chopper, again. That night we played Yahtzee and Trouble and had a good dinner. Wednesday she went with the neighbors to find a blueberry patch. Unsuccessful finding the patch so they went to a playground. After they came over and swam in the pool with Morgan. Wednesday night Rick and I went in the pool late with her. Then we played Yahtzee but she got bored and started to set up Life. Rick started a game with her this morning then it went to Nat and then Sean. She had to be back at the bus for 11 am and it was supposed to leave at 11:30 but 12 it was still sitting there waiting for the last child. We headed home and had lunch and the house was so incredibly quiet.
I will miss you Morgan. You tired me out but you were a pleasure.

If your inner thoughts are too critical tone them down to be less harsh on yourself. Train yourself to have thoughts that are more rational, more accepting, less judgmental.
Psalm 139:13-14
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Proverbs 31:10:31
10 [a] A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

On Saturday I took my first Amtrak ride to NYC. It was a fun day but a long and tiring day. A lot of walking. Lunch was very good. I enjoyed the grilled shrimp and baked potato. Then off to the Empire State Building. It was amazing how long we waited in line after line to see the view from the 86th floor. Then we walked to Times Square and walked around some more. All in all it was a good day and the weather was great. Now in my header I have a picture from the top of the Empire State Building. Enjoy!
